Lately I've been reading a lot of stories on mibba, and a lot that I have read are completely plot driven. Most of these stories don't have interesting characters either and it makes me quite sad. For me, the best part of stories is being intrigued by the characters that live in the story's world.
Since I don't see it very often, I have a question for authors who make it a priority to have interesting characters: What techniques do you use to make sure your characters are enticing?
Personally, I either have a character in mind and make the story around it or look at this list I found that has negative and positive traits a character could have; I find that both of these are good methods (for me at least).
