One of the things that bother me is the misuse of words when talking about sex, both on Mibba and out in the real world.
Making love, sex, and fucking:
This is something I hear more offline than I do on the computer. Some people love to overuse 'making love' to classify any sort of sexual act. I know some people don't like using the 'F' word to describe sexual acts (believe it or not, I don't really like to use the word when talking about sex). But to call nitty-gritty sex in a fast food restroom between stranger "making love" is a really far stretch for me. I think the misuse of this word bothers me more than classifying a rough hardcore sex as fucking. When I think of making love, I think of something beautiful shared between two people that tenderly love one another. Call it sweet or an act of passion, I think that is when "making love" is appropriate.
Sex, I think can be applied to any sexual intercourse act, no matter what speed or if it's between two strangers, couples, whichever. It's the more common term, at least.
Fucking, well I don't really like using it to describe sex. It just seems so dispassionate to me and dirty. But when someone says it I think of hardcore sex (porno-worthy) or a one night stand type of sex. No real tenderness, no real commitment on any degree. It's just there.
Dick, Cock, Pussy, Cunt:
This is a problem I see on Mibba.
When I'm reading a sex scene that is supposed to be tender and filled with love and passion, I absolutely cringe at using cussing for parts. Am I ready porn or am I reading a couple that has been in a relationship for the past twenty chapters and who are expressing their love for one another? I think there's an appropriate time to use these words, but when I'm reading some sort of fluffy sex scene, I just cringe at the vile language. I'm not saying someone should write 'my lady parts' or anything like that (*coughs* Like 50 Shades then for full-out porn *cough*) but just clean it up a bit. If you're writing a smutty, smut, smut scene then go for it.
