Commentary on 'Words''

Have you heard that there are words you are not allowed to see?

I search for the words that would reduce the internal conflict
that I see in the world around me.
I recognize, that it is not I, that has been chosen to lead the battle over ignorance.
And yet, how can I sit idly by, letting small minds decide
What books I can read / or support those who would burn.
Nineteen Eighty Four ( George Orwell ) has come to the fore again,
except that is one of many not allowed to survive.
How does one fight against the Teachers, Librarians and Preachers (of the WORD ),
That pick and choose for me and my children, which books we are allowed to read?

Have you heard that there are words you are not allowed to see?

"Cover their eyes, ... they say
Wrap the blindfold tight
Light the match and set ablaze the Right to read.

Gather together those that would teach
Yes, and those that would preach
Let them put out the light that was lit for us all.

Lay down a blanket of smoke
So others can no longer see
Words that were printed on leaves of great trees
Eradicate, extinguish, and dull the mind.
You will not succeed, though I know you will try.

Shame on your attempt to fill us with ignorance that you hold so dear".

( REF: Book store closings, Book burning and Banned by those entrusted to teach. )
