top 10 favourite books: #1 One Day (David Nicholls)

I think what makes this book so different from others is how cleverly it's written. The story follows the relationship between Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew. Each chapter is of the same day a year later, on the anniversary of the day they met at university. The time span of the book is 20 years. It goes through each other's separate relationships and break-ups, triumphs and failures before they finally realise they need each other more than anything else.
It's a very emotional book and made me cry A LOT. The ending is the saddest thing.
