Things Writers do that Bug Me

Hey people! I don't know if any of you noticed I was more or less gone for the past week. I've moved into a new apartment! Had to wait like five days until the AT&T guy came and hooked up my wifi. (It was torture.)

News this week: PETER CAPALDI IS THE TWELFTH DOCTOR. That has nothing to do with this blog, but I've been exploding with excitement over it, omg.

Anyway, I was gonna tell you things writers do that bug me. One is actually a thing that I do that bugs me, I'm not entirely sure other people do it too.

BIG THING: Details. Details in writing are important, but I don't know, sometimes I mess myself up making sure details for REALLY TRIVIAL THINGS are correct. For example: the weather patterns of a city in my setting or picking out a name for a character. People don't care about those things! People know that Miami is really sunny and Seattle is really wet, but I still try to get so specific about it. The name thing, yeah, that could be very important in SOME stories, but let's be real, naming a character Natasha versus Natalie won't effect your story. Here I am though, looking up the top 100 baby girl names in the United States, trying to find one that has a German descent and means cow farmer. WHAT THE HELL. Do you guys do this?

Little things:

Don't be a silent reader. Don't be a douchebag author! I've never done this, sure I remind my readers once in while or maybe ask for tips, but come on.

I guess that's pretty much it. I was gone for a long time (only a week but I'm kinda addicted alright?) so I wanted to write a blog. Just... ok!
