! I need help!

O.k. Theres this new girl that moved in acroos the street from me. And i swear, she's like my twin, only the girly twin. And she asked if she could be my friend and I said yes, because I didn't want to hurt her feelings. But know, she's like saying, that I have to do this and that, and that since I'm a sixth grader (yes, I know. gasp!) and she's a seventh- grader, she can't be seen with me. And it's like, your the one that wanted to be my friend.
But I have no idea what to do. :[ HELP?!!!!
