Not Knowing Your Sexuality

I don't know if it is a common thing for people to just not know. It is an assumption that most people are straight, then there are people who are homosexual or bisexual. Then there are ones we hear about less often like pansexual, asexual, and demisexual. I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I know of. I honestly don't know. I've never been attracted to a male in a sexual way, but I haven't been attracted to females either since middle school I think. I don't have sexual desires so would that make me asexual? I actually identify as demisexual because I believe (I hope) that when I do have a connection with someone I will be sexually attracted to them and want to take that step. I've just been single for 18 years and it hasn't happened yet. I'm just in a very gray area. I know it's all labels and titles and it's not the most important thing in the world but it really bothers me to not know. It makes me feel abnormal so I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem or am I truly alone with this one.
