Okay, so recently I've found myself getting annoyed with the unoriginality of some fanfictions. By this, I do not been every single one, but it tends to be the romance themed fics.
In almost every 'Romance' fiction, there is always a vulnerable girl and a man who appears to be out of her league. The girl in these stories almost always has depression of some kind, or a bad childhood. I find this annoying because it is almost as if the man is drawn to the girl because of these issues she has. The problem I have with it is that it makes me (and others i have spoken to) feel like, as we do not have any emotional problems, like you have to have some kind of issue to be liked as a guy.
Why can't there just be a girl, who loves life and isn't anorexic or suicidal, who falls in love with an equally happy man?
I'm not having a go at people with depression or emotional issues, i'm just trying to explain how it is an over-used plot line, and almost a piss-take at people who actually enjoy life.
