I Hate Feeling Unnecessary

It seems like ever since I graduated high school and withdrew from college, that I have no friends. It's not as if just because I'm not pursuing a degree that I've suddenly turned into a rum-dumb idiot. I still take online courses, I'm still getting certified in something, and I'm passionate about things that a university would only constrict me from doing.

I'm not a science/math/business or any of the other things students go to college for thinker. Also, I refuse to get a liberal arts degree that's useless just because "Oh yeah, I got a piece of paper to flash around, so that means I'm certified for..."

What... exactly? To think? Sing? Act? Play music? I'm sorry, but I don't need a piece of paper to prove that I can do that sort of stuff.

And I mean no offense to those who do get those degrees because if you can handle that kind of thing in a school setting, I'm more than happy for you. It's just not for me and I don't think it's right to determine a person's capabilities because of it.

I refuse to have friends who think that way, sorry.
