If you're American, I NEED your help!

I'm from the UK in my 3rd year of University studying Broadcasting and Journalism. I was at a total loss for what I want to do with my life so decided that I should get some experience related to my degree that incorporates some form of travelling too.

So, my question to you is, can you give me the names of any good/big radio stations over in the states?!

I like music, especially rock so if there is a station that has a focus on music you can think of that would be ace. And an added bonus would be if it was on the West Coast. I just really want to go there, but it isn't essential.

Any suggestions or help that you have to offer would be so greatly appreciated, you really have no idea!
