Three things to remember in life

It's the twenty-first day of 2014. The moment the clock struck midnight on New Years Eve, I was thrown into a whirlwind of changes. The universe has some sort of a plan for me, and it wasted no time when it came to getting the ball rolling. The past twenty-one days have seen me cry, more than I ever had before, and those days have seen me mourn the loss of what little confidence I had in myself. But I've learned some valuable lessons. Perhaps, the most valuable lessons I'll learn this year. So, if you remember anything this year, remember these three things:

1. The most valuable, significant and beautiful relationship you will ever have in your life, is the one you have with yourself. So don't do it an injustice. Love yourself, know what you deserve, and be unapologetically you. Never, ever allow yourself to lose who you are, for someone else.
2. Your best friends are the loves of your life. Believe me, they are, and they always will be. They'll bring you back to life when you think you've been broken beyond repair.
3. When your mother tells you that she thinks a boy is trouble, she's probably right. Listen to her. Hear her opinion, even when you don't want to hear it, or believe it. You'll thank her. Believe me, you'll thank her.
