Dear Old Writers,

Dear Old Writers,

Don't be afraid to try something new. Though you may love your old methods or style, you may discover that you have a real talent for something you never would have thought, from a new genre to a new way of writing.

Don't let the critics get you down. Not everyone will love everything you write. Someone who loved your last story may hate your new one. Don't let it get to you. It doesn't make you any less of a writer.

Don't be too set in your ways. While it's good to love your writing, don't love it so much that you can't even consider someone else's advice. Be perceptive to what others have to say.

Don't ever stop writing. You'll never be too old to write. You'll never "grow out" of writing. There's always something out there to be written, so keep writing it.

Do be proud of yourself. Do love your work. Do get lost in your writing every moment you can. Believe in yourself immensely, because if you've done it before, you can do it again. There are a million stories in your head just waiting to be written, so never stop believing you can write them.

With love and support,
Katie Mosing
