Your Kink Is Not My Kink

I think it's pretty important to remember that phrase when you read anything porny. Whether you like that kink or not doesn't matter; all that matters is how well it's been written. I've read a lot of bad!kink in my life (please research please), so I know there's a difference. It is entirely possible to write anything well, including bodily fluid play. If it's well written, people need to stop bitching about it because of its kink. My issue is that some authors really have no idea what the fuck they're writing and they are making the NC-17 community look real bad. Guys, research. I don't care if you think you can "wing it." Research never hurt anyone, and it sure saves you the trouble of having people point out that your character should be dead from your bad biology (i.e. certain things can't go certain places). And as someone with kinks, I know how annoying it is to have someone do it so wrong it's horrifying to read. You can write whatever; don't expect people to grant you praise if you do it wrong.
