My Gerbil Is Ill and Won't Eat - Help!

Yesterday I noticed he seemed to be drooling a lot, and by a lot I mean his chest was literally soaked, and he seemed really lethargic. I took him to the vet this morning because I was worried about overgrown teeth and the vet said his tooth is broken. He didn't say a lot about the tooth but said he also has a nasal infection which I received antibiotics for.

I got back from the vet about seven hours ago and he still isn't acting any differently. He's not eating and barely drinking. He's been sleeping all day and he's usually really active. I've tried giving him banana and oatmeal but he isn't at all interested. If I offer him food he'll turn around and will just fall back asleep. I've also tried crushing his normal food into smaller pieces but he still isn't eating.

I just don't know what to do. He's my baby and I feel so awful that I can't help him. I've tried everything I can think of. I read online that I can give him baby food but all the shops are closed so the earliest I can get it is tomorrow.

He seems like he's lost a lot of weight too, and it's only been a day. He's still drooling.

I don't know if I'm just expecting miracles and he won't be himself for a few days yet but I am really panicking. I don't really know if his tooth will grow back or if he'll get better.

Does anyone have any idea's at all? Anything will do.

It sounds awful but he's my favourite out of the two and I'll be devastated if anything happens to him.
