So I work in retail, in a store at the mall known as Bath and Body Works. And like every other retail store we get our fair share of rude customers who you just believe are honestly out to ruin your day they're so rude. I'm usually a main cashier so I have to ring them up and they are any better to the cashier's than they were the people on the floor trying to help them and they're awful to deal with. But there are also those moments when some of the best and nicest people come in.
Those are my favorite people. They're the ones who make me realize that no everyone is rude or out to ruin someones day with their bitterness. And they just make me love life and my job a little more. And I just wanna share two stories about these amazing people.
One:
While I was at work yesterday this amazingly nice woman came in and I help her out, told her about the deals we were having and made sure if she needed anything to let me know and eventually she was ready to check out and so while I was ringing her up we got to talking. I didn't think much of it just chatting like I do everyone or try to anyone. And it took a few minutes to get her through and it was so funny because we started talking about how I'm saving up money to get to California because I wanna go to SDCC and meet Dylan and all this stuff. And she starts joking with me about how in love with him I sound and asked what I'd do if he turned out to be an ass. Which first maybe he is but I for one refuse to believe that Dylan O'liferuiner Brien, is an ass. So I told her that I've watched his interviews and things where he's not in character and he doesn't come off as an ass like some people might and she was okay with that and then like out of the blue she's telling me that if she were rich she'd give me $50 right then and there to help get me to Cali. She even said something about how if she were to play the lottery and win and she'd come back and give me $100. It just made my night, she was so sweet and funny, and adorable. I just loved her to bits.
Two:
Okay now this happened a few months ago. Like back in January I think maybe... I don't remember for sure but it's still good. Anyways I was checking this lady out and again making small talk with her while I checked her out. And I noticed that she had on this Once Upon a Time sweater. Which that show is one of my favs. It's an amazing show. And I already knew that Josh Dallas, aka Prince Charming is from the same town I live in so of course his family would live here, but it was still a shocker. So I asked the lady if she watched the show because I love it and she was like 'not usually but my cousin plays Prince Charming' and of course I kind of freaked out a little. I didn't scare her or cry or anything but fangirled a bit. And we talked for maybe like 3 minutes about him. How Charming and Snow got married in real life how they were having a baby, how he didn't get to come home for Christmas because she couldn't fly, she even showed me pictures of them all three together on her phone. She went on about how happy she was to meet a fan of the show and told me she'd tell Josh about me and it was amazing. But what made it all even better was, well she'd went on about how she usually always has autographed pictures of him and stuff with her but she didn't have any at the moment but she'd try and bring one in some other time. Well after she left I was still freaking out a little telling everyone about it. And then she came back to the store like an hour later, she came back in the same day just to bring me one of the pictures. I guess they had some in their car or something and she wanted to give it to me. And it was so cute. Made my week that week.
And those are just two of the awesome people who've came in and totally made my job a little better. There are more, those are just the two that really stood out to me the most. And I love people like that. I really do. Anyways feel free to share some of your own positive work stories. I'd love to read them :)
