Lightning Turned My Smoke Detector On

So, I am officially freaked out right now. I live in Western NC, and the wind and rain are insane. I know I am not in the hot zone, yet, like Alabama, but it still worries me.

Jake and I were watching Trigun, and our smoke detector in the hallway began going off, and all of a sudden, BANG!!!! It sounded just like a shotgun right next to our ears.

I read online that when lightning comes down, so does a bit of Ozone, and the smoke detector took in the Ozones molecules, calculating them as smoke molecules.

I hope everyone in Alabama, Tennessee, and other states being impacted by these storms and tornadoes, stay safe. I doubt very seriously that I am going to sleep tonight.
