Mibba Throwbacks

So I've been thinking a lot about the old days on Mibba thanks to this lovely blog and because Rianne just posted her own blog about what she remembered. And now I'm gonna bring up more stuff that'll make all us old Mibbians reminisce about Mibba back in the day! Yay!

I've been a member for six years (look at my small number url whoa) and wow has this site changed. I'm gonna list all the things that were pretty memorable to me. A lot of crazy stuff happened on here. It was great. Okay, here we go.

BALLOONS
A small thing I remember. Whenever it was somebody's birthday, they had balloons appear in their signature (it was the signature, right?) and that let all of us know it was their special day. Every time I saw it, I always would go to the person's profile and wish them a happy b-day whether I knew them or not. And I'd also get random people doing the same thing to me. I loved the balloons. They made me feel so special!

AVATARS
Ugh, I miss when our avatars were bigger! Instead of being 60x60, they were 100x100 and I loved that. To this day, I still kinda don't understand why bigger avatars won't work for the new layout, but I guess that's just how it has to be. Anyways, themes looked so pretty with big avas and it was easier to find an image because I didn't have to worry about people not being able to make out what the image was. Ooh, but the best part was when a whole bunch of us Mibbians made themes to express how we all felt about them. Needless to say, we weren't happy at first haha. I forgot what mine was, but it was so clever and I was pretty proud of it. If only I could remember...

MIBBA WATCH
I hella forgot why we were doing this. I think it was supposed to be like "neighborhood watch" or something, but we all had the same customized Mibba Watch avatar and then we all made our own signatures that centered around stalking and watching. Mine was lyrics from "Every Breath You Take" by The Police. Except it was, "MIBBA WATCH: Every key you type, I'll be watching you." And yes, I was pretty damn proud of that theme. too. Was anyone else apart of this?

ROLEPLAYS
Back then, when the whole Roleplay on Mibba thing started, there was a TON of group roleplays! Also, they didn't even focus on a plot. Instead of "closed" roleplays where two people did a plot together, it was pretty much a bunch of forums where we all chatted while in character. Just think of it as WAYT, but instead of being yourself, you're pretending to be someone else. My favorite one I was involved in was a bandom roleplay where a bunch of people just joined as members from any band. I joined as Jag from A Skylit Drive (I was so obsessed with them during that time) and I mostly chatted with my mibba friends that were Gabe Saporta and Ryan Ross. (x

THE MIBBA MOVIE
GUYS THIS WAS LIKE THE FUNNEST THING EVER OKAY. So it all started in 2009 when the user Charmless posted a thread saying "If Mibba were to make a movie, how would it go? Who would star in it? What would the genre be?" It was simple discussion kind of thing, but then it all became into something much bigger. We began thinking of making this "movie" into a story. The "actors" were characters created by Mibbians, the "director" set everything up, the "writers" would, you know, write the chapters, and the "fans" would promote it. We ended up making the "movie" a horror movie and began thinking of a whole bunch of death scenes and we started making up our characters. We did a whole bunch of stereotypes. Like we had a popular guy, a nerd, an outcast, etc. My character's name was Shayla and she was like supposed to be the nicest girl in the whole school and another character (the outcast) was in love with her. AND GUESS WHAT GUYS. THE STORY IS STILL ON HERE. IT'S STILL IN MY SUBSCRIPTIONS LIST. HERE: Alter High
It died after two chapters, sadly. If only we could revive it, but most of the people who were involved have left. -cries-

OTHER SMALL THINGS

Remember the little green triangles that indicated that a user was online at the moment?

Remember when WAYT and Confessions only took like a week to reach 200 pages?

Remember the Unofficial Mibba Awards and how they made everyone's day?

Remember the "weddings" (in which two Mibbians got "married") on WAYT? I attended one. :3

Remember the parties on WAYT? I once hosted a rave on there...

Remember when we had post counts? And different ranks when we reached a certain amount of posts?

Remember when we could make a custom rank when we posted an article? Mine was always "Off the Heezay". (DON'T ASK OKAY)

Remember the old profiles?

Remember when "two weeks" started?

Remember when we could add music to our stories?

Remember the Mibba Yearbook?

Remember Keep the Faith?

Remember the list of users online at the bottom of the Forums page and how we'd all get excited whenever Dujo was online?

That's all I'm putting for now. I might make another throwback blog some other day. But ugh, this brought back so many memories. I kinda got teary-eyed. But anyways, it was also fun to think back at all the stuff that went around here when the site was a little more lively. Hope this made you remember some of your old memories, too!
