My Grandpa Got Published + Other Rambles

So, like the title says, my grandpa got published for the third time (that I know of, at least)! His first two books were children's picture books, and the latest one is one for adults. It's about the organ donor black market. Something like that. He's sending me a copy so I can read it for myself. B)

Another thing is that I illustrated the book's cover, and since it was done a few months ago, it feels weird to see it again. o_O I'm noticing so many more mistakes now, but I guess it's too late to go back and change it. God, I did all the illustrations for the two kids' books he did (I did the first one in ninth grade and the second one in tenth, I think), and looking at them nowadays makes me cringe into next week.

A few weeks ago I got a job at Subway (my brother works at the same one so I think he's the reason I was hired) and it's been going well, but today there was a huge-butt lightning storm and we lost power. Florida sucks. -.-

Needless to say, it's been a weird day.

So, speaking of book covers, I have a weird habit of drawing tons of "covers" for my stories and just eventually not using any of them. (I usually just end up using a stock photo and putting text over it, to be frank.) The cropping of the story covers on here usually bites me in the butt, though I don't find it as big a deal as I probably should. That being said, I finally drew a cover I'm kinda proud of! It's for my new-old story Who Knows, Who Cares and I dunno, I kinda like it:

Maybe it's because Alana always ends up looking exactly the way I picture her in my head when I draw her, but whatever. (She's definitely one of my favorite protagonists of mine.) ::tehe:

Alright, and speaking of drawings, the other day I got a weird idea for a character meme thing. (It was the same day I drove for six hours round-trip with my boyfriend to a Say Anything concert in Orlando, but I digress!) I only intended to use it for my ridiculous story Generation Why Bother, but heck, I might end up stretching the rules to use it for other characters too. It's kinda like a fighting game selection screen. Something stupid like that, haha.

I made all but three of them today so I might post a journal when I finish them all just to show them, 'cause they're actually kind of cool. I'll post the blank template, too, just in case anyone wants to try it (YOLO and stuff).

Speaking of GWB (not George W. Bush, but Generation Why Bother), I've been thinkin' more and more about a sequel. I doubt it would gain any traction on here but the characters have been haunting me, I guess. Even when I finished it I just kinda knew in my heart that it wouldn't be the last time I'd write them. There's a loose outline sitting on my computer with a few major plot points but there would have to be a lot more planning involved before I even tried anything again, especially knowing the amount of planning that went into the original. o_o
