Chaptered Stories?

With a lot of time on my hands due to summer break (and not much to do if I'm not hanging out), I've been reading a fair share of stories on AO3, and I realised something. I can't read chaptered stories. I know that's not really a word, but how else do I describe them? I don't know, maybe I just don't have the attention span for it? I actually feel like this is a problem though. I was reading this story I actually liked but I just couldn't finish it, I felt like it was dragging on for too long.

I also can't write stories with multiple chapters. Not only am I crap at updating- like, for example, I started writing a story 11 months ago I decided wouldn't be a one shot, and I have not updated yet. Granted, I forgot about it for a bit, but I actually tried the other day and my mind was just blank. I think the thing is that once I'm actually able to write something, I have to write it all at once, other wise I lose inspiration and I don't bother to try and write more. I've tried, but it's all failed miserably.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I can't handle chapters. They're too much for me, I guess.

Does anyone else relate, like, this bothers me.

Also, you're very cool if chapters aren't an obstacle in your life, I wish I was you.
