The Basics

I'm bored today so I'm doing these lol.

• What’s your name?

Nadia, but my Internet friends call me Dia and I kind of prefer it.

• How old are you? When is your birthday?

I’ll be 19 on October 24th.

• Where are you from?

Los Angeles, California. Gotta rep my hood.

• Do you know a second language? How did you learn it?

I got this question on a job application once and I put that I know “basic conversational Spanish” which means I can order food and ask where the bathroom is. My mom is Colombian so I’ve learned a bit from her but mostly I learned it in high school.

• Are you a writer or a reader?

Both. My mom wouldn’t let us watch TV on the weekdays when I was younger so my brothers and I just read. I was reading chapter books in first grade and the library I go to actually had to upgrade my library card so I could take out more books. I discovered that I liked writing in like…eighth grade? Been writing ever since.

• Are you on any social networking/blogging sites? Which one is your favorite?

Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook. The basics. I think Tumblr is probably my favorite and you can follow me here.

• How many siblings do you have? What are they like?

I have two big brothers, and we have the kind of relationship where we either love each other or we’re all ready to kill each other.

• Do you have any pets? What are their names?

I have two dogs, Izzy and McDuff, and two cats, Hunter and Valentina, and a red Siamese fighting fish named Sebastian.

• What's your dream career?

Working for a publishing company or a music magazine.

• How tall are you?

5”5’ ¼. I’m very proud of that ¼ inch.

• What color is your hair? Your eyes?

My hair and eyes are both dark brown.

• Do you have any tattoos or body piercings? Would you like to get one?

I have my lobes pierced and my right cartilage pierced. I’m really indecisive so I don’t know if I could ever get a tattoo without regretting where I put it, but I’m really into watercolor tattoos. As for piercings, maybe another one in my ear?

• Do you have good handwriting? (Bonus: Write something on a piece of paper and show it to us.)

My handwriting has gotten progressively worse since I got to college because I use my laptop to take notes. But I did a handwriting challenge a while back that you can find here.

• If you chose your own name, would would you have chosen?

I quite like my name, although maybe I’d go by my middle name, which is Lucia. Funnily enough my mom was thinking about naming me Adrianna (after her sister) or Jenna, and my two best friends are named Jenna and Arianna.

• Do you believe in ghosts (or anything else supernatural)?

I think when people die a little of them hangs around. My grandfather certainly has been hanging around helping out, but that’s a whole different story. As for other supernatural things, I think it’s possible they exist, but I’m skeptical about it.

• If you had to read one book over and over again until the end of time, what would it be?

Rebel Angels by Libba Bray. My absolute all-time favorite book.
