It's Highway Robbery!

My dear, sweet boyfriend is still working at the movie theater part-time while he finishes getting his masters, which leads to quite a bit of comedy in my life (and free movies, yay!). Everyone knows that the cost of going to a movie is 99% outrageous and 1% entertaining, and the movie-goers are not afraid to say something about it.

I'm pretty sure, at least once a day, Brendan has had someone tell him the cost of going to the concession stand is "highway robbery", which is hilarious and also true. A large popcorn is something in the neighborhood of $7 and you only get one refill. I can feed a family of 6 for that. The funniest part, though, is that they yell at the employees about it like it's either them who sets the prices or they have the power to change it and don't. This is probably a peril of many jobs, but I think movie theaters has to be one of the worst when it comes to pricing.

If you don't want to pay $7 for popcorn, don't. Shove candy in your purse like the rest of us. Hello.
