Eight Years

I joined mibba back in 2007, meaning that this year will be my eighth year on the site. That's kind of scary. I mean, I was fourteen when I joined, and now I'm twenty-two. That's a long time, and yet parts of it seemed to have gone by really quickly.

It's kind of weird to look back and think of some of my earlier stuff. I mean, my first few stories were so bad! Like, really bad. The first stories I posted on here (which I deleted ages ago) were My Chemical Romance fanfics (I came here from IMO; anyone else remember that site?) and they were terrible. There were so many spelling errors, there was no plot, and the characters were pretty 2-dimensional. And there was so much telling instead of showing.

I definitely think I've grown a lot as a writer since then. (Then again, it's been ages since I've written a multi-chaptered story, so who knows. I should try and write longer fics.) Mibba has definitely helped; I probably would have stopped writing long ago if I didn't have a place to share it.

So, are there any other old timers around? And does anyone else think mibba has helped them improve their writing?
