Society

I have a story idea in mind about the government changing society with good intentions and so far the only changes I have are: no borders around Mexico, everyone who was in jail for drug possession is released, all of the homeless are in houses that were empty for a very long time, and free or low priced college.

I'm taking a sociology class right now and I'm learning that what I need changed is not what everyone needs changed. If you could change society in some way, like having free childcare, what would it be? Why?
