I haven’t been on Mibba lately because I’m back in school and I suck I’m so so sorry for that. To make up for all my absence, I decided to do a blog. But not just any blog....
It’s a STORY TRIVIA blog!
I love to share some backstory and facts from the stories I write. Since I’ve written quite a few stories since my last Trivia blog, I thought it’d be a good time to do one before I post my newest fic hopefully by the end of the weekend.
Lots more trivia this time. Even more than the last blog, so let’s get to it!
TRIVIA
Your Favorite Song
● When I first got off my writer’s block, I wrote down a bunch of possible ideas I could do for Hayliver and one of them was “something inspired by Still Into You. My only problem was that I didn’t really know what to do since this was before the series.
● The last time Hayley and Oli saw each other was September.
● And yeah, Lee totally came to Oli’s place for Tom.
● I like to think that Hayley posted a picture of herself in the studio on her Instagram and that all the fans thought she was doing stuff for Paramore’s album when she was actually doing vocals for “Deathbeds”.
● I’ve always liked the idea of Hayley doing vocals on that song. Not just because I love her and that she’s with Oli in this universe, but because she would fit the song. After hearing “Oh Star”, I believe she’d be perfect for it.
● She was super secretive about being on Bring Me the Horizon’s album. She didn’t drop any hints and she also didn’t want them to put her name on the track listing as she felt mentioning her would take the attention away from the album.
● Oli still wanted to give her credit, though. So he put her name in the liner notes and obviously fans of both fans recognized her voice right away.
● This wasn’t the first time Oli asked her to do a collaboration. Before, he wanted her to the vocals that Lights did on There Is a Hell..., but she told Oli that Lights would be a better choice.
● My original idea of how Hayley would show the song to Oli was give him her notebook that had the lyrics. But I decided that didn’t work because she wrote a song for him and like why would I not show him actually listening to it. It’s music, so he deserved the full effect.
● He was well-rested and after making sure his hair looked right and there were no drool marks on his face, he was also ready to see her.
I love doing little nods to previous Hayliver stories. So just had to do a little nod to Ink here.
● “You know, if you weren’t all the way across the Atlantic, I’d punch you in the face.”
“I’ve always loved your unique ways of showing affection.”
This fic was really where I upped the playful banter. Ink was where I started adding more fun dialogue, but this fic was where I definitely showed how silly and cute their relationship is. This was my favorite line from this fic.
● “Sadly yes,” he chuckled. “Not a single snake was on there. But it’s all good because I’m finally here with you.”
I was listening to Cobra Starship’s song “Snakes on Plane (Bring It)” a lot during this time. Saw the opportunity and I took it.
● “Come on, but I’ve been patient.” He placed his hand over hers. “Can’t you tell me something like you did last time? Sing me a little acoustic version of one of your songs.”
Another nod to a previous Hayliver when they had their first kiss. ❁◕ ‿ ◕❁
Woke Up Alone
● The whole thing behind “Remembering Sunday” always interested me and I just had to write my own version of how Meg left him with this in mind: What if she had come back?
● This was originally going to be much shorter. It was just going to be Alex waking up to find her gone, their backstory in just one or two paragraphs and then him finding her outside. It was supposed to be 3k, but then I got too into the backstory and the “present” scenes were the framing device used to tell it. Then it ended up 10k. Well.
● Meg left Alex in the middle of the night. Since she also left during the tour, someone from Meg and Dia’s crew had to fill in for her.
● Though we only saw Alex’s side, during the year of them being apart, Meg was just as miserable. She kept telling herself that it was best she left because things were going too fast, but she regretted leaving. She tried dating a little, but it never worked out ‘cause all she thought of was Alex. /tears
● In real life, many people kept thinking that Meg and Dia’s song “Going Away” was about Alex. In this universe, it is.
● Meg was reluctant to go to the concert in Utah because she still thought Alex would hate her for coming, but Dia convinced her to go through with it.
● The Melex series and the Hayliver series exist in the same universe. What’s funny is that the whole story of Alex and Meg happened earlier. In fact, when Alex met Meg, Hayley was still with Josh while Oli was still with SJ.
● And when Alex and Meg finally got together, it happened four months before Hayley met Oli.
● He loved her so much that he’d leave her alone. For good.
That line was inspired by an untitled song that Dia shared with us through Instagram. I’m not sure if it’ll actually be completed and recorded but I hope it does because it’s beautiful. You can listen to it here. If it becomes a real song, it’s definitely a Melex song.
FBR Girl
● My first fic that focuses on my bae, Taylor. And the first fic where Hayliver’s just a side pairing, which was strange but still fun.
● Obviously, a majority of this fic takes place during A Perfect Beginning. It shows what Taylor was up to while Oli was being a romantic little shit and proposing to Hayley.
● The morning scenes took place around the same time as Ink. Though Hayley and Oli were up earlier than Taylor and Noelle were.
● The faceclaim I used for Noelle is one of my favorite fashion bloggers. I actually had her in mind when I was first describing FBR girl.
● FBR Girl is filipino and she knows how to speak Tagalog. Man, I wish I could say the same for myself.
● Noelle lived in Alaska before moving to New York.
● She’s a marketing assistant. That was Adam’s (a real FBR employee who’s close with Paramore) old job before he got promoted.
● I actually was going to reveal her name the first time it was brought up, but then went all, “Nah, I’mma let people wait a little longer”. I’m evil, I know.
● The big hole in Taylor’s sweats that he gave her were caused by an amusing incident involving him falling down the stairs.
● I was also going to write their “date” of having breakfast the next morning but didn’t want it to drag on too long.
Make Me Breakfast
● Alex’s whiny tweet caused this story to be written.
● Happens a month after Woke Up Alone.
● Alex doesn’t use just his own songs on Meg. He’s used Meg and Dia songs on her, too. I’ve also realized that him quoting his own lyrics isn’t that different from what he does in real life.
● When Meg’s not traveling, she always goes to the farmer’s market. Either to buy fruits and stuff or sell her jewelry. A lot of people really like her jewelry.
● When Alex goes with her, he gets tacos every time and Meg sometimes treats herself by getting cupcakes.
● I wasn’t sure if I should write her drinking tea since she was pregnant, but did some research. Apparently you can drink some caffeine during pregnancy but not too much. Meg drinks tea, but not all the time so she’s good.
The Dullest Knife
● Had a few working titles for this fic. First it was just called “Hurtful Hayliver” because I didn’t think of anything yet. Then I just did “Hate to See Your Heart Break” since this whole story’s based around that song. But that title was too obvious, and then I finally came up with The Dullest Knife because that line perfectly describes the feeling of getting your heart broken.
● Got this idea sometime after finishing Your Favorite Song and it’s one of my few Haylivers that aren’t apart of the series.
● I was inspired to write these after Shay wrote a very hurtful Hayliver and a very hurtful Joshley. Those stories killed me, but got my brain working. The way the relationships ended (at the airport and the wedding) in my fic were the same situations the characters were in for her fics.
● Her fics were mostly focused on Josh and Oli’s POV, so in a way her fics were supposed to kind of be considered sweet for them, but not for Hayley. I wanted to focus on Hayley’s thoughts and show how these situations affected her.
● I listened to all the sad Paramore songs for this and not gonna lie I kinda cried a few times because I felt so bad for Hayley. Like I even had to take some breaks because she’s my baby and I was a horrible person.
● When I was outlining this story, at the top I wrote a quick summary: “In which Hayley doesn’t end up with Josh or Oli and ultimately ends up with Alexander Gaskarth. AKA Aliya ruins everything.”
● Another summary: The two times Hayley got her heart broken and the one time she didn’t.
● He looked closely at the traces of the removed stickers and from what he saw, he understood why she had pulled them off. Those stickers had once been gifts, but she no longer wanted them.
I don’t know if I made it clear, but the stickers that were removed from her bumper were YMAS and BMTH stickers.
● After the whole thing with Josh at the airport, Taylor got Hayley comfort food and stayed the night because he’s an amazing friend. While it hurt me to destroy my favorite ships, I enjoyed writing Taylor and Hayley’s friendship.
● Josh was the one who contacted Hayley again while Oli never did.
● Oli and Lee broke up because Oli messed it up...again. When Oli asked Hayley out, he was fully intending to get back together with her as a rebound. Yeah, Oli’s a dick in this fic.
● “Now brace yourself because I’m gonna be singing ‘Hallelujah’.” Taylor set the guitar on his lap
I was wondering if I should’ve done Taylor singing Hate to See Your Heartbreak since it would kind of be full circle because she wrote that song for him, but went with “Hallelujah”
● Alex had been hurt a lot in the past, so it kind of took both him and Hayley a bit to get together. Still, since they understood each other, they became close and this relationship actually works out.
● They reconnected during the Reading and Leeds festival and I plan to do a fic that explains how they eventually became a couple.
The Happiest I’ve Ever Been
● My first baby fic and according to Shay, I did a pretty good job. :D
● The first chapter takes place around Woke Up Alone (the present). Alex proposed to Meg the same night he woke up to find her gone and the next day was when she told him.
● Meg got pregnant on April 6th, 2014. She was exactly three weeks pregnant when she found out.
● Her due date was January 11th, 2015 but obviously the baby came a week early.
● Included Baradine in this because I adore Tay and thought she deserved to be with the lovable Barakitten. Also, I’ve gotten so into that pairing, I just had to. They’re cute as fuck.
● “Is nobody gonna mention that I was pregnant, too?” Jack cut in, his ridiculous statement causing everyone in the room to stare at him.
“You say that as if you carrying a sack of flour under your shirt actually counts.” Rian laughed, putting an arm around Cass.
I’d like to thank Rianne for making me picture this and it made me laugh so hard that I had to include it in the fic, even if that mean going against her wishes. Another great scenario she made me picture was Jack dropping an egg to mimic Meg’s water breaking.
● I did a fuck ton of research for this fic. I was on a bunch of baby sites to look up how labor goes, who’s in the delivery room with them, what they can bring in the go bag, and I even read a bunch of other people’s experiences with giving birth. I really didn’t want to mess this one up.
● I didn’t want to make their son’s first name Thomas because I thought that was too predictable, but I still wanted to include it. So I went with the middle name because my family has done that when it came to naming their kids. (For instance, my middle name was from my great grandmother who passed away)
● Dia and Zack hang out a lot and became pretty close since they’re the ones who are single in the group. Their relationship is completely platonic. But I feel that doesn’t stop the fans from shipping them. ;]
● The red hoodie Meg’s wearing at the end is Alex’s old hoodie. You know the one.
● James was born on January 2nd, 2015 at 6:41 AM and Meg was in labor for nine hours.
● While Meg was in the delivery, Cass couldn’t help but tell a few people. Hayley being one of them. But hey, she wasn’t the only one. Dia told her mom. Well, that one makes sense so.
I Can’t Do This Alone
● Pre-Relationship Hayliver because I like to torture myself.
● I wanted to revive the very first Hayliver idea I ever thought of way back in 2008 when I first thought of the pairing. I also started thinking of how Hayley and Oli’s friendship developed before they became a couple, thus this fic was born.
● The very first idea I had was Hayley and Oli singing “My Heart” together.
● I also rewrote history and included Chad in this, showing how things would’ve went if Oli was in the picture and how things should’ve went. I had to include Oli’s girlfriend before Hayley, too. It was cool to show how they both had a rocky love life before eventually finding each other.
● I went with SJ as Oli’s girlfriend because of the timeline. She also seemed to fit this situation better than the girlfriends (since I like Amanda and Hannah).
● Minutes before Oli first met Hayley, he was on the phone with SJ having another “I’m not cheating on you while on tour” argument. His last words he said before he hung up on her and saw Hayley? “I will never be with anyone else but you.”
● Alex and Meg were also on Warped Tour at this time.
● Eventually Oli told Hayley exactly what SJ said about her, but she honestly didn’t care because she’s dealt with enough people hating on her. She was more flattered that Oli stuck up for her.
● Before “My Heart”, Paramore did “Misery Business”, which was a bit of foreshadowing since Hayley eventually does get Oli.
● For the rest of the tour, they sung “My Heart” together.
● When Hayley and Oli got together and SJ tried talking more shit about them, Hayley dedicated “Misery Business” to her for one of Paramore’s shows and it was awesome.
All the Awards
● We all know why I wrote this.
● Actually, I did plan to write an APMAs fic before it aired but after what really happened at the show, it definitely affected what I would write in the fic.
● My longest one-shot to date.
● Oli had been planning to get Hayley a dog for a while. When Hayley told him she really wanted Alf, that finally pushed him to go through with it.
● “Alright, I’m up, I’m up,” Oli murmured, releasing his hold of Hayley so he could also pet Alf. He then looked at her and raised an eyebrow. “You thought I was licking you? Since when do I ever wake you up by licking you?”
Hayley smirked and sat up. “Well, there was that one time where you had the great idea of going under the covers and surprising me by-”
“I meant waking you up by licking your face,” Oli interrupted, knowing exactly what she was talking about. He really needed to word his sentences carefully. “Not even eight in the morning and you’re saying things like that.”
This fucking dialogue. I was so pleased with myself for writing this Hayliver banter.
● Lee and Tom were so obvious about their feelings for each other that Hayley assumed they were already a couple when she first met them.
● The last time Paramore (well mainly Hayley) saw All Time Low was the 2012 Warped Tour where she didn’t perform, but came to watch. Last time Oli saw them was the Kerrang Awards.
● In the future, I’m definitely going to write a fic about Hayley and Oli at Soundwave.
● Hayley and Oli didn’t know they were both close to Josh until the 2009 Brand New Eyes Tour.
● Chad ended up getting together with Mariel Loveland from Candy Hearts.
● Vic got Jonathan and Craig together (FINALLY) since they both helped hook him up with Jenna. And yes, I ship Vic and Jenna and might write about them one day. We’ll see.
● Vic and Jenna met at an Isles and Glaciers show and got together in 2011. And in this universe, Jenna’s on the studio version of “Hold On Till May”.
● Hayley met Tay in 2012 when she was at Warped Tour. Her words to Jack: “I really like her and you two deserve to stay together forever. If you mess this up, I will shove a bra down your throat.”
● I wasn’t originally going to write that whole scene of Hayley and Oli with Bliss, but I realized it fit well since it shows how much they’ve grown and how they’ll be good parents. Also, I hadn’t written Hayliver interacting with Bliss yet.
● Tom and Lee obviously went off somewhere to get it on.
● Bring Me the Horizon’s performance replaced Falling in Reverse’s. #sorrynotsorry
● They both glared at him and Hayley couldn’t help but comment on that. “Yeah, right. As if we’d actually do that in here.”
“If you really knew us, you’d know that we’d obviously do it in place that has way more room for positions,” Oli added and they both high-fived each other (with straight faces to boot) while Tom made a look of disgust.
I laughed so hard when I wrote that because I could so imagine them high fiving each other with the straightest faces ever and it’s great. And they’ve had sex in public before. Yep.
● Hayley and Oli eventually went to a Twenty One Pilots show in the Fall.
● This is what Noelle wore at the awards show.
● Writing that nice little conversation between Hayley, Cass, Meg, and Tay was one of my favorite parts to write. DID I FINALLY PASS THE BECHDEL TEST.
● The picture Oli gave Hayley would eventually be used in their wedding invitations.
● So this fic finally tells you when Hayley got pregnant. Now when did she find out? You’ll learn more about that in my newest fic.
In the Morning
● My first Hayliver smut. Still will never ever compare to Shay’s masterpiece, but she told me I did a good job with this one.
● I got this idea three days after finishing All the Awards due to the above mentioned banter scene I loved so much. Had to take everyone back and share the story of that.
● The night before I worked on it, I was laying in bed wondering if I should go through with or not. I slept on it and then finally made the decision to do it when I woke up.
● The last time I wrote smut was 2011 and I looked back at how I wrote sex before was awful and trying too much to be like porn. I didn’t want to do that for this.
● I wanted to make this as sweet as possible while still being sexy. It was pretty fun to write.
● Hayley’s blonde in this fic. It takes place some time before the Wango Tango event.
● Hayley and Oli share a nice flat in Sheffield while in Los Angeles they have a two-story house in LA. I always seem to have them either in a hotel room or LA, so let Sheffield shine for this one.
● Oli loves to eat Hayley out, so he definitely couldn’t pass the opportunity up here. And while this wasn’t the first time he did it, it was best he’s done.
● If you hadn’t guessed it, the title is Paramore-based and at first I wasn’t going to keep it like that since the context of the song does not fit the story at all. But it just stuck and I liked it.
You Keep Me Warm
● Hayley actually does have a mug with the letter “H” on it, so I did that for the mugs here.
● I already decided what the gender of Hayley and Oli’s baby will be and like them, I want you guys to be surprised.
● There’s a Paramore ornament on the tree.
● Like I said when I read Pressing Flowers, even though Hayley has a bit of a bump you still can’t tell from behind that she’s pregnant.
● “Well, I mean, you would freak out too if she was your mum,” Oli retorted. “When I first told her about you, she was already asking me if we were having safe sex.”
That just made Hayley laugh even harder. “We were, though. Your mom had nothing to worry about. Did you tell her that?”
“Yeah, of cour- okay, that’s beside the point. Anyway, it may sound funny now, but it was so much worse at the time.” He groaned. “Shit, if she had brought that up when you were there, I would’ve died.”
Hayley and Oli first slept together after dating for three months, which was October 2009.
● Oli’s mom mentioned his scene boy phase and the only thing that prevented Oli from being really embarrassed was the fact that Hayley already knew about it.
● “But you didn’t.” He cupped her cheek. “Neither did I. It was all because we realized we didn’t want all that fucking negativity to win. So we helped each other and fought through all that shit and we won. Now we’re more than okay. I’m still alive and I got you.”
“You got me.” Hayley nodded. “Nobody thought we’d work, but you understand me more than anyone else. So fuck ‘em.”
I love love love this bit because it shows how good they are together and how much they’ve taught each other to be better people. Here Oli is the one saying how they didn’t give up and being positive while Hayley’s all “fuck what other people think”. It’s just nice and a subtle touch of how they’ve influenced each other.
● It was perfect to do a Secret Santa because it’s an even amount of people. Here’s who had to buy for who:

● Nicholls is apparently one of Bliss’ favorite people. I believe he’d always make her laugh and be pretty good with her.
● Those speeches from Hayley and Oli made me emotional, not gonna lie.
Holy shit, that was a lot of trivia. Anyway, hope that was fun to read for those of you who like my stories. Once again, I’m so sorry for not being on Mibba as much. But the good news is, I’m working on the HAYLIVER BABY fic right now and the first chapter is going to be short! So expect it to be posted soon. Here’s the story page.
