When my mother in law tries to tell me that I should write children's books because they're easier than a young adult book. I'm sorry but you have to have an interest in it if you're going yo do it (or at least I do) and I have ZERO interest in Children's books. I don't even read my own children, children's books. Yes mother in law, I do in fact read to them but since when has Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone become a picture book with lessons on sharing toys? Since when has Alice's Adventure in Wonderland become a bedtime story for infants?
Yeah. We're almost done reading HP1, my boys (5 & 1.5) and I. And my daughter (2.5 months) and I have just started Alice. My son very quickly loses interest in picture books unless its my mom reading them. He is always asking to read my books. So now we do.
Know what else I hate? When you have ZERO interest in my book and ASK me about then zone out while I talk about it. That makes me feel SO important and listened to.
Sorry for the rant guys... Had to get that off my chest before I exploded.
