Past Participle

The English language leaves room
for the space between Is
and Was.

It Has Been a good life.
He Has Been a good father.

We've received some sad news this week. We found out my father-in-law is not expected to make it through the weekend.

I'm not sure how to process this right now. Mostly I just want to be here for my husband since it's his family. But his family has become my family too, and I love my husband's father, and I am very sad.

We're hoping to make a trip to be with the family soon.

I guess that's about as much as I have to say on the subject right now. It's a very difficult feeling, this in-between-ness. But we'll get through it.
