Strike a Match, Make a Flame (Ficmix)

I super duper adore superheroes in general and movies/stories/anything really about them, so I knew I was going to love Carrisa (starfire.)’s story Blaze. Instead of a story about superheroes saving the world, though, we get a story about a girl who looked up to the superheroes and wanted to be like them, but when she found out they aren’t as great as she imagined, she takes revenge. A good old villain as a main character, so great. The story is short, only three chapters, but it’s so, so amazing and I highly recommend that you show some love to it.

For this ficmix, I wanted to keep things more upbeat, I guess you could say, and keep the intensity that the story has. Which was a bit of a challenge because (as I’m sure you’ve noticed) I’m super into indie music, which isn’t the direction I wanted to go with this mix at all. It ended up with a little bit of rap-ish stuff and more Fall Out Boy and P!ATD than I originally anticipated, but I really love how it turned out.

Also a side note: I feel like the lyrics of Dust to Dust by Chelsea Grin fit the story well, but I thought metal/screaming might be a liiiitle too heavy and intense for a ficmix and you can’t understand the lyrics anyways so I’ll just leave it here aha.
