Judging Stories Based off Appearances

I was on a bit of a roll tonight reading some stories and I got to wondering, people judge books by their covers all the time, do people do it here?

I'll admit I'm a bit turned off of a story if there isn't a custom layout. That's not to say I don't give it a chance. I continue and I read the summary and if I find I have no interest I click away. Another thing I've found myself doing is I only click on original fiction. Part of my reasoning for that is original fiction doesn't get enough attention on this site, the other part is mostly due to the fact I have no interest in particular fandoms.

I know, I know, you can read fanfictions as if they are original stories, but sometimes I just don't feel like it.

So question time:

1. Do you judge stories before reading them?
2. Are you more interested in stories if they've got an intriguing title? (What makes titles intriguing to you?)
3. Does it matter if the story has a custom layout or not?
4. Original fiction or fanfiction?

In a different direction - commenting.

5. Do you comment?
6. How do you comment (In-depth, simple "I like it"/"Update soon!", as you go along...)?
7. What do you want from a comment?
8. Do you thank people for commenting?

I really am quite interested in seeing what your answers are.

Bonus questions:
9. Do you promote your stories? (blog, forum, recommending...)
10. Favorite thing about stories on Mibba?
