Dirtyhands and His Wraith Ruined My Life

Or rather, Kaz Brekker and Inej Ghafa ruined my life, but that didn't sound as ominous or catchy. And sure, they ruined my life out of love and good intention, but ruined it nonetheless lmfao i love you nerds.

Basically, Ella and Fae bullied me lol insisted I read this snazzy little book called Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. And I did. And now I don't know what to do with myself or all these emotions I have, like?? All I can think about is reading the last book, Crooked Kingdom, but I can't because I have so much reading to do for university and I don't want to fall behind already... But I also need to know how the series will end. Please send your pity and prayers my way, I need all the moral support and self-restraint I can get.

I just... Where do I even start? This book was such a roller coaster of plot twists and character development and emotions, and I loved every second of it. It kept me guessing to the very end, too, much like Kaz Brekker and his dumb schemes. The world building and pacing was done so well, I was literally sat there for the majority of the book like #GOALS - Leigh is queen, trust me. Characters I hated in the beginning were characters I grew to love by the end due to the amazing effort put into the character development, and the overall chemistry between the main characters just worked so well - the cast was so different and diverse that it brought out the best and worst in all of them for different reasons, it just highlighted every angle of every character and it was just so perfect/. Basically, I just adore this book for a million different reasons (reasons I apparently suck at putting into words, apparently). And if my messy gushing didn't convince you, it has golden moments like this:

All I can say is this: if you're looking for a well-written, intense book filled with interesting characters and huge, canon diversity (such as PoC, LGBT+ characters and themes, disabilities in various forms such as physical and learning, etc), YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK. PLEASE. I've turned into an official salesperson for the series, okay? More people need to read this amazing book and fall in love with these dumb nerds like I did. IT WILL 100% BE WORTH YOUR TIME, I SWEAR. Even if I don't manage to convince you to read Six of Crows with my poorly articulated reasons, Ella and Fae will~
