A New Story, and Hopefully Less Writer's Block

So, two posts ago I mentioned how I've had severe writer's block. Well, I'm happy to say that I think it's lightening up for now. I've been able to come up with a few blog posts for here (the previous two, this one, and at least one more for later), and another blog post or two for my other blogs.

I also took a look in my writing notebook, back several pages, and found two little bits I wrote in response to a couple prompts. I decided to try doing something with them, and with the one, I've come up with a new short story. It's not much, only 400-some words long. But I like it enough to share it.

Here it is: A Cat Walks Past.

Most likely, I'm going to be working on the other prompt response next, trying to see what I can come up with. Then I'll see what else I can find in my archives. Or, who knows? Maybe I'll come up with something completely new. The gears in my head do seem to be turning a bit more lately.
