My Not So Super Superman

Superman is a socially constructed idea of a man who saves a woman.
Although some say superman has reinforced socially constructed roles, for example a woman needs saving.
That’s not me, I’m aware of my flaws and I don't feel like I need to be saved.
I have fears, struggles and clearly no amazing feat for superman to come and rescue me from.
However, I do have the real world to contend with, experiences, and fears and so on.

So here goes.

Dear superman,
I know you will feel sad, I know I don't need saving.
You don't need Lois lane, your human with no extraordinary powers, you'll talk, I’ll talk, and we’ll get upset.
We will fall, not necessarily at the same time, but together we can take over the world.
Emotions are hard for me, every emotion has a consequence. However in life I am struggling, but endeavouring to understand that positivity or negativity is a choice.
I may not be Lois lane but please don’t drop me please don't hurt me just like superman never hurt Lois lane.
