Story Genres

When writing a story I want it to be obviously perfect, at least to you guys. I read some stories on here and their very amateur, although some I've read were stellar. I want it to be something that can attract an audience and keep them wanting more, which is why in the years I've been using this site, I haven't written a single story. I've read many, to find inspiration, but it hasn't worked, but I think now's the time to write my first story on here. I'm a big time writer, mostly a poet but I'm good when it comes to writing something that can attract at least someone, but never a bigger crowd. I've never published stories to a site to be criticized by people. Whilst most of you are way younger than be, it'd be interesting to have younger people comment on my seemingly adult-like writing. (When I say adult like I mean ancient, aha).

What attracts you to a story is where I'm going at here? Do you like Mystery, Romance, which is what I love writing about. Romance is a personal favorite of mine. But what do you like to read about? I see a lot of fan fiction on here, but I don't write about things that already exist, I write stories based on my own thoughts. Don't get me wrong, fan fiction is hilarious, and I adore it. Seeing what else something could have been like is great, some fan fiction is better than the actual thing, but it's not something I'd personally write about. So tell me what you'd want to read about, so I can write about it.
