Life Update: Camp NaNoWriMo, Contests, Critique Partners

Ah, it's that time of the year again (even though this happens like three times a year lol), the time when writing is in the air and caffeine is in my bloodstream. I've had some stumbling in my writing lately; I haven't finished a draft since my the beginning sophomore year of high school. I graduate next month. That's a long ass time to go without writing something big, or at least it is for me.

I've tried to be on the DL about it, because I haven't been that good at NaNoWriMo lately. It's kinda sad.

But I'm getting back into it. Even though I'm rebelling and I wrote a little extra at the beginning of March, I have been keeping my traditional 50,000 word goal and I have been writing 1,667 words a day. My story is Ichor and Ambrosia, and although I really like it, writing fast means I have to sacrifice writing well (for the most part). I love my story and I love my characters, I just haven't been in love with what I've been writing. I liked taking it slow in March and going my own pace. But now I kinda have to write; which isn't a bad thing. I'd never have a finished draft if I go my own pace. But updates will probably come a lot slower. I don't want to put out content I don't feel confident about, not just yet. I'll at least polish it up a little. Hell, I'm working on chapter five at this point, but I don't even have two posted all the way. But it'll get there, I promise.

Speaking of Ichor and Ambrosia, does anyone want to be critique partners? By that, I'm asking for a group of people who are writing with the intention of being published. I want to get feedback on Ichor and Ambrosia once I have the second draft. I plan on sending it to agents along the third or fourth, but I'll definitely need help. Anyone wanna team up? I'll help you in return.

And lastly, I have a contest called the Original Fantasy Contest which is a contest for high fantasy storyies! Prewrites are allowed so please enter!

That's all!
