Migraines and Heartaches.

I've been a headache patient for most of my life. I've done everything within my power to keep the headaches at bay, but the only thing that works is these extremely addictive medication which as a side effect gives me more headaches. It takes 10 days for the medication to have left my system, but I take medicine almost every day, because my headaches come on every single day. Now, because this medication is as addictive as it is, my doctor wants me to quit this medicine and try something new. Yet, for any medicine to work properly, I have to be clean for 6 weeks.

I'm absolutely terrified, because my headaches are not something I wish upon even my worst enemies. I need to fight through the first 10 days. Today was day one, it wasn't a bad day, manageable at best, but I know bad days are coming and I don't want to face them.

My plan is to keep busy. Not cancel my plans. Go about my week as usual. See if keeping busy and not giving my headache a chance to manifest, all while taking my preventive medication. Fingers crossed I can finally rid myself of this horrendous medication.
