Life Decisions

Hi friends!

So I spend a looooooooot of my time thinking about the future. If you don't know, I graduated from college last year with my bachelor's of science in biochemistry. I want(ed) to go to grad school for my master's in genetic counseling. I applied last year, was interviewed, but was ultimately waitlisted and not accepted. I was bummed. I didn't reapply this past year, because I didn't have anything new for my resume. I want to apply this fall for next fall, so I have to start getting everything together for that. But, my dilemma, is if I don't get in this year, I don't want to apply again. I don't think I could go through all of it a third time.

So, I've been trying to think of "back-up" plans. Now, I used quotes because I'm considering nursing, and by NO MEANS do I want to imply that I think nursing is an easy back up plan. Nursing is definitely something I have thought about. But I didn't know if I could do it.

I know I want to work somewhere in the healthcare field. However, I don't want to be a doctor or anything like that. So I did some research, and there are accelerated nursing programs for people who have bachelor's in different fields. AND I'm actually above the minimum GPA requirement (I loved my biochemistry major, even if my GPA didn't show it).

This feels like a step in the right direction. I'll post some more stuff when I actually start going for this. I just have to keep reminding myself that everything will work out in the end.
