I Need a Little Help || Blaze's Side of the Story

So I just finished my baby, the story that I've been working on for three-and-a-half years, Blood Lust. and I want, so bad, to do Blaze's side of the story. And I want Blaze to have this, "I'm sobetter than a serial killer" attitude. Like he doesn't understand why killing people is bad.

But then I told my coworkers today, and they were like, "THAT'S WHAT DEXTER IS ALL ABOUT!!!"

And guys, I've never seen an episode of Dexter in my life. I'd heard about it, but never what it is about. And my coworker told me that I would be plagiarizing if I were to do Blaze's side of the story, even though this has been something that I've wanted to do for three years.

So right now, I have so many ideas for Blaze's side of the story, but and kind of totally terrified to put them down on paper because of this coincidence. Like, what do I do if I've never seen something, but my story is REALLY similar to it?!?!

Please help me guys, 'cuz I don't know what to do.
