Blog 27 Character Auditions For Your Stories

This was an idea that's been on my mind maybe the past month or so- to "interview" characters with a series of short questions to not only get to know them but to also see what they could contribute to a story. I've been trying to think of questions that would be relevant and interesting, but I tend to think better in the moment or else things may never get done. Hopefully this is a method some of you could do as well to help with your character creations. My example may not be the best, but hopefully you'll get the gist of it.

First you should write as though you are interviewing your characters.

The first question you should ask is what is their basic personality

the second question; what is their past

third question, what story would they like to be involved with

fourth question; what can they contribute to the stories they'd like to be in

and lastly, if you were to write a story revolving around them as the main character, what would the genre be and what kind of story-telling would it consist of?

Hope you find this useful for your writings and works; have a nice day.
