Once A Day Blog 37: How Do You Feel About Dark Triggering Stories?

Lately I've been thinking a lot about a story I've been writing for years now and I'm thinking about how I can get it published. Some thoughts came to mind about it in regards to some of the dark content featured in the story such as prostitution, murder, light forms of abuse, and psychological scarring. There are powerful messages behind the chaos of the story, but I'm not sure if readers would be able to see pass the dark parts and see the positive.

So I'm curious to know, what are you guys' opinion's on dark triggering stories? How do you feel about them, do you think stories shouldn't be written with this kind of content? How do I promote a story to get people to read it but still warn them on triggering parts? Thank you for listening. Your thoughts really are important to me.
