Journals?

This maybe daft (and it is) but why are there journals? with an 's'? Surely it's just a journal considering there's only one of us and each entry should be an entry or a post or something like that? Anyway, any idea's you guys have for why this is then let me know! It's been bugging me for days! :)

Stupid things just told me I need 100 words. I hate it when it does that! Apparently I'm on 61! Or I was at the begining of this paragraph.

Any news from me? Not really. I guess doing more coursework doesn't really count. It's like 5.15pm here and I really wanna go home but I can't until 6 - long story. damn. I wanna go home! lead me to my door!
