Inspiration?

How do you find inspiration?

I usually find mines from reading or watching tv/movies. I've had an almost permanent writer's block for the past couple of years which probably has to do with adulthood hitting me fast. I can't get past basic ideas of characters or plot to actually start writing. I feel stuck on this one project and I'm thinking maybe I should just try to finish it, no matter how bad it comes out to just get me out of this slump. I know I have the potential to be a good writer but I also know I am holding my own self back. What's the process for something like this? How do I find the mojo to bring my writing back to life?
