Editing Questions

For those of you who follow my works I am currently editing Broken and I'm almost done, but there is one thing that I'm noticing.

Each chapter has gone up in number by 200-900 words each depending on the chapter. Now my chapters are already pretty lengthy has is and I'm very proud of my word count. However, I came across an article where they said if writing a novel try to keep your chapters between 2000-5000words each. now 1 chapters is shorter than that by 200 words. 3 meets the word count and the other 4 exceeds by at least 2000-4000 words each.

I don't know what to say. I like as is.

my question is when editing is it okay for the word count to increase? Should I be trying to decrease it? Or is it more of a 'to each it's own' kind of thing? Let me know what you think.
