Asexuality

So this is sorta a rant. But anyway.

Asexuality is NOT:

A medical problem, lack of sex drive, that kind of thing. A lot of asexuals have a sex drive, they just don't want to do anything with it, or at least not act on it with someone else.

One specific thing. There isn't just one type of sexual person, so why would that be true for asexuals?

Just about the scientific definition, so stop making the damn jokes. They get old fast.

Something that makes you like a little kid. We GET sex jokes, we KNOW what it means, we just don't want it. So don't act like we're suddenly 10 or something, just have a little respect and don't shove it at us.

Because you're a late bloomer or "just haven't found the right person". Lose the denial already.

Asexuality IS:

An orientation. Or sorta. In the way that gay, straight, and bi people are all sexual, just think in the opposite direction.

Possibly going to cause relationship problems, if a sexual and asexual person end up together. It's sad, but it's the truth, and it IS possible to work through.

A struggle sometimes, since the world is so sexualized.

Kay?
Okay, now that's over.
