I'm One Lucky Bitch [A MCR At MSG Story Of Randomness]

Thursday night [05/08/08] was the day I saw Bob in my town and I was really regretting not saying anything to him so much that the disappointment and regret carried through to Friday.

Being in school, stuck knowing that I wouldn't be going to the last MCR concert for years, wasn't really helping with that. So, naturally, the whole entire morning I was so fucking bummed. I didn't talk all first period and I usually don't shut the fuck up, so it was a little wierd for people. This upperclassmen whom I've become friends with even patted me on the back and told me not to 'be sad'. His efforts didn't work, of course.

Last period of the day I told my other friend in math class the Bob story and was kinda starting to come to terms that I fucked up probably the one shot I'll ever get to see any of the guys. The upperclassmen came into the math class randomly to check on me [how sweet] and said "Well, I'm happy to see someone's smiling!" So I told him what was up with Bob and all this other shit like forgetting my essay that counted for half a test grade and all that jazz. He was totally cool with me liking MCR [which I have to admit was unexpected] and he understood why I'd be bummed.

Now, that was all fine and dandy, but I was still fucking bummed 'cause it was MCR's last show that night and I couldn't fucking go.

I got a ride home from a friend, so I didn't have to walk, which was good for me 'cause I just so wasn't in any walking mood. I got home at around 3:05 as opposed to the usual 3:15 it would've been if I had walked.

I threw my shit on the floor and ran upstairs to go online for a few seconds to change my status on AIM, and while I'm on, someone IMed me. I clicked on the flashing bar and the most fucking amazing thing happened:

britnoir (3:08:44 PM): Hi, I got your sn from the mcr lj ticket post. Are you still in need of a ticket for msg tonight? :)

Now, I flipped the shit for two reasons. #1 This... was fucking wierd and amazing at the same time and #2 it was such short notice I was sure I couldn't go. My mom was pissed at me for no reason, as usual, and I could never take the train into NY alone. Also, she would never pay for the ticket and I sure as hell don't have any money, so I was forced to basically say no:

SweetNSour9 (3:10:07 PM): oh hey! hmm... its a bit too late now because I'm from NJ and am about 45 minutes away by train and my mom would never let me go alone otherwise i'd take up your offer in a snap :(
britnoir (3:13:04 PM): I'm sorry, I should have contacted you sooner, there was still a chance I could go
britnoir (3:13:35 PM): If you by chance know someone who can go, the ticket's free
SweetNSour9(3:13:55 PM): aww its ok. i just wish i could buy it from you but my mom is kinda pissed at me for no reason and probably wouldn't let me buy it and then theres the whole problem of getting there =/

...curiosity:

SweetNSour9 (3:17:13 PM): oh and just wondering, how much are you selling the ticket for?

...and the magic words:

britnoir (3:17:50 PM): Its free
SweetNSour9 (3:17:54 PM): o_o
SweetNSour9 (3:17:56 PM): free!?
britnoir (3:18:10 PM): Yep

That eliminated one problem, but that didn't change the fact that my mom was pissed off at me.

SweetNSour9 (3:18:22 PM): omg... then there might be a possibility...
SweetNSour9 (3:18:27 PM): that i can sweet talk my mom...

So, I called my mom but she didn't pick up after a billion tries. I asked my sister to call her 'cause I thought she was just pissed at me and wasn't answering but my sister said she's been in a meeting all day. So I just thought, Shit... and now she's gonna be pissed even more that I've been calling her so much...

In the mean time, Brittany [the girl who IMed me] sent me a link to ticketmaster.com and gave me her password and name so I could print out the ticket if my mom happened to magically say yes.

I asked why she was giving her ticket away:

SweetNSour9 (3:47:18 PM): awwww! why?
britnoir (3:47:33 PM): Which is why I'm giving away my ticket
britnoir (3:47:43 PM): My father can't make the drive
britnoir (3:47:54 PM): He got injured at work last week
SweetNSour9 (3:47:58 PM): awww, im sorry
britnoir (3:48:01 PM): Unfortunately
britnoir (3:48:07 PM): S'ok

After that, she had to go, but she made sure I had the ticket ready to print incase my mom let me go.

britnoir (3:48:20 PM): I have to go
britnoir (3:48:26 PM): Good luck
SweetNSour9 (3:48:30 PM): ok. thank you so much <33333
*screennames changed ;D

My mom called me at around 4pm and yelled at me for calling so much during her meeting, as expected. She got home a half hour later and said "What is this talk about going to a concert?" Of course, my sister had to tell her shit about it and not let me say it. I told her about the concert and the free ticket and she asked where it was. I said Madison Square Garden and the second I said it, she just straight up said no. I asked why and she said that I'm not taking a train alone and she isn't taking it with me.

Then I did what any desperate person would do... I bawled my eyes out for a good twenty mintues until I heard my mom say to my sister "Now I look like the bad mom!" After she said that I gave a real good gut-wrenching agonized cry and I heard her come downstairs. I was in my room on my bed in the dark, covering my face with a pillow, looking absolutely devistated. She came in and asked a lot of stuff about the girl who gave me the ticket and all this junk.

Finally came a good sign. She asked about the train times and I told her the schedule. We decided to get a 6:16pm train into the city.

Victory.

We walked to the station and, of course, it had to be raining so my shoes and socks got all wet.

We got into Penn Station and I met up with Alex [Lexi Luther Wexxxington Bear III] and then with Jenni. We forgot to take a picture. Boo.

We had to split up, them to their seats, and me to mine.

Drive By was just finishing their set when I got to my seat.

Taking Back Sunday was getting set up and then they played. They played MakeDamnSure which was pure pwnage and they also played a new song.

This is How I Disappear
House Of Wolves [Gerard howled like mad in the beginning of it. I joined in. ;D]
Welcome To The Black Parade
I Don't Love You
The Sharpest Lives
My Way Home Is Through You [Dedicated to his wife in the beginning and blew her a kiss at the end.]
He made us do the waves and said he'd only done it once before in London. He told us to sit down and then Ray told him that we just put our hands up but Gerard wanted it 'more dramatic!'
Headfirst For Halos [Completely made my life. I was hoping so much they'd do this song and they did and I just sung the whole thing, trying not to cry. He also did some catchy little 'la la la la la la' tune to it.]
I'm Not Okay [Gerard took Ray's part in the music video saying things like "You don't know karate!" and "You don't know jiu-jitsu!" etc...]
Mama
You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison
Sleep [Gerard just screamed the "WAKE UP!"'s during the guitar part so amazingly.]
Gerard talked to the crowd about how Toro is obsessed with this camera he had. [Toro is obsessed with all cameras. Note the making of the Welcome To The Black Parade video and his carrying around the disposable. What a tourist!] Apparently, Ray insisted that we all have our picture taken with the camera before teenagers. Bob stood up on his drum stand thingy and took the picture. Gerard said that it better have come out good because "you only get one shot with these kinda things".
Teenagers
The guys left the stage. I could see them jumping around and toweling their hair off in the hallway right off the side of the stage. Gerard was jumping and warming up while swinging his arms. Twas cute! =D The guys came back out for the encore.
Famous Last Words [Gerard walked behind Mikey and, at first I thought he was just hugging him from behind, but he started squeezing and Mikey stopped playing, trying to get him off but then Gerard lifted Mikey up and carried him halfway across the stage. Mikey's legs were flailing bicycle-riding style the whole journey. They were both giggling the whole time and it was so cute. When Gerard put him down, he ran back to his spot near Frank and kept playing.
Cancer
Desert Song
Helena
At the end Gerard said "If we ever play another song, keep it alive, and if we ever play another show, keep yourselves alive!" That line made me want to cry, but I was way too excited and still on a concert-high so I couldn't! The guys left the stage and it was all over...

After the show, I met back up with Alex and Jenni. I wanted the 'MikeyFuckinWay' shirt so bad. Jenni got it and a sweatshirt. We walked back to the front of Penn Station, about two blocks away from Madison Square Garden, where I met up with my mom and told her I wanted a shirt. Alex said I wouldn't be able to go back to the merch tables, but I didn't listen and my mom and I went over to the tables once I split with Jenni and Alex.

The security stopped me and said I couldn't go back in, so I called my mom over and whined and she told the guy that its only one more person and there is still a bit of a line at the tables so he finally let us in and I got to the table. Everything was taken down and in boxes because they were packing stuff up. The guy at the table said "Okay, everyone! This girl is the last one to get anything!" I asked if there were anymore Mikeyway shirts and the guy said no but this lady said there were. The only size left was an XL, but I was dead set on getting the shirt so sold!

Wanna know something pretty sweet? I was the last person to buy MCR merch at the last MCR show for the next fews years! =D

We missed the train at around 11pm and the next was in the 12pmish aread so me and my mom decided to just wait by the bus since there was nothing else to do.

I talked with this cute kid who's name I have no idea but he was really nice and awesome. From Florida. Now thats dedication, eh?

The guys didn't come out by the time I had to leave. [I figured they'd be afterpartying it up. =D]

I was tired as shit on the train so I kinda nodded off until we got to my town where I walked home looking quite sketchy in the street lights.

I got home and fell asleep almost instantly.

Best. Night. Of. My. Life.
