I Like Morbid Childrens' Books

Hello, Government. I am here to threaten you. :)
Not really- I am just in a good mood. I've seen something beautiful today. Well, I see beauty everyday but, today, I saw a litter of kittens being born. I saw life being created. I saw the result of 58 to 65 days of nurturing unborn babies. Yes, cats are usually pregnant for around two months. Thank Buddha for Google, eh?

I always feel bad for the "runt" of the litter, though. Cats, much like humans, are selfish sometimes and aren't very kind to the poor "runt."

Damn my tender heart, I took the "runt" home with me today. His name is "Xerxes" from Edward Gorey's morbid children's story "The GashlyCrumb Tinies."

He says, "X is for Xerxes devoured by mice." and Xerxes is mortally terrified of my friend's mouse, Loui, so I thought it would fit pleasantly. :)

Anyway, I've grown rather fond of him but I am not sure if I can keep him. He says hello. Okay, I lied, he doesn't even know you people exist. I'll be sure to inform him, though.

So, tell me about your pets, how you got them and their names. I'm up for a cute story. :D
