Annoyed with fanfics.

I am sick of fanfics.

I may seem hypocritical because I have one, but there's just so many of them nowadays.

What happened to the original fiction on this site?
Where's the creative genius put into writing?

I click onto stories that see to have a good plot, the it says that it's a fanfic.
It's annoying.

And the people who write these fanfics actually call themselves Authors. That, I find depressing.
Are people unable to think of characters anymore? Do they all have to be celebrities?

There's no meaning to stories anymore. It's half impossible to find decent fanfics that actually have messages and aren't some teenage girl's fantasy about her favourite band.

I'm thinking of moving to a different writing site, one with less fanfics.

Does anyone share my point of view?
