Macys Day parade. The Green Day song and what I just realized about it.

I mean, the lyrics, are so,
I can't explain it!

Because I'm thinking about
a brand new hope
the one I've never known
and where it goes
and I'm thinking about
the only road
the one I've never known
and where it goes

I don't believe it's about commercialism, I think it's about that point in your life when you have to realize something the point where you have to chose a road. And how no matter what your always going to look at the other road you never too as what if? Like what if Billie never got famous? What if his brand new hope was just being normal? Then he comes to the conclusion that his life is all he ever wanted. The song most likely started off as how he felt about the world and turned into his own life and looking at it.

when I was a kid I thought
I wanted all the things that I haven't got
oh. I learned the hardest way
Then I realized what it took
To tell the difference between
thieves and crooks
A lesson learned to me and you

That part is about how he wanted to be a rock star, He wanted to have money, Only to find out what it really meant.
To me this lyric kinda says that when I was younger I wanted a sister or brother, Then I was told about my sister but she was nothing like I dreamed.

I never watched this video all the way threw until today. I never really listen to the words until today. I never got the point until today.
