Reporting From Music Camp!

Hi everyone!
I'm writing my first journal entry ever from summer school which is in the UK. This is a pretty cool place, the school its held is called moreton Hall but the course is called LMFL. I learn French, take violin lessons and guitar lessons.
So when I first arrived, they automatically put me in the orchestra as a Second Violin player without knowing my level. And my level is... -1. I started learning violin just this year so I can't play stuff that well and I'm very slow at reading music(I prefer going by ear' which is impossible to do in a orchestra piece.). So when I went to the first rehearsal I realised there was no way I could play in the orchestra because during the whole thing I only could play the opening note and I kept coming in late! After the rehearsal I told the conductor (which is a lovely guy named William) that I couldn't play violin well and asked if I could drop orchestra.
He went:
"Oh dear why don't you do percussion?" with his cute British accent and I couldn't resist because I always wanted to play those weird drums.
So the next rehearsal I carried the bass drums all the way from the music building to the main hall where the rehearsal was held and I can assure you that they're pretty heavy. I settled down and just as the opening note was played by the violin it hit me. I don't know how to play percussion. Or read the percussion part! William the conductor was very nice about it; I think he just thought that I was listening and learning the song before playing. Which was not happening. So I tricked two drummers that they would be great percussionists and LEFT rehearsal. After rehearsal ended, William came and asked me what happened and why I left. I told him:
- My services were no longer needed.
So he said:
-I turned around and you were gone and there were two other percussionists! I was a little shocked!
-Well my mission was to do percussion and I'm a perfectionist. I found you the best percussionists around! See; mission accomplished!
And I just left which was hilarous! Now he calls me scandallous girl : D
