So...I'm feeling pretty accomplished today. Guitar-wise. I learned Waltz #2 by Elliott Smith. I've always avoided his stuff because of the amount of fingerpicking, something I'm just learning. I got the rhythm down in lessons, but that's not what I'm proud of. I've got the chords and fingerpicking going at the same time for the intro and chorus and it sounds GOOD. I'm like ecstatic right now. I thought I'd hit a guitar plateau but I guess that's not the case.
Fingerpicking is nice. I'm learning a lot of spanish guitar pieces right now, just because they sound so amazing when played correctly. There's a really nice one I've been playing since last summer that I have absolutely memorized. It was about a page long or so. I can remember big pieces of music but not scales. Hah.
Anyways, what's new? I'm on a Modest Mouse kick right now. Their early stuff is so so pretty. It's good driving music. I got free spring rolls from my friend's restaurant today, successfully breaking my 2 straight weeks of sandwiches. Hurray! They were delicious, especially drowned in sweet and sour sauce. I did a ton of walking today so I'm totally okay with the fact that I probably had a 400 calorie supper. My mother brought home leftovers from her lunch out at another Chinese restaurant so I'll have supper again tomorrow :3
