A story based off of the late 1800's of Russia, Anna Karenina, by Leo Tolstoy, is a classic novel that is stylistically fantastic. There are two main characters whom Tolstoy focuses the plot on: Anna Karenina, and Constantine Levin. In the first of the two, Anna is a beautiful and highly respected woman of the capitalist lifestyle. This position in the society, however, changes upon her meeting with the ever so charming Count Vronsky. Levin, on the other hand, is a man that is misunderstood in the noble part of the society. He chooses to live in the country lands, paying his farm workers reasonable payments, and even participates in helping them tend to his lands. This personality of his sets him apart from the other men who are pursuing to take the fair Kitty's hand in marriage, and he struggles with his love for the young lady.
