Karou is an art student in Prague. She enjoys drawing monsters that may or may not be real. She has blue hair, she knows martial arts, and she carries a knife in her boot. Weekly, she runs errands for a devil, retrieving teeth from old warehouses in Paris, from old men in Marrakesh.
But, one night, on one of these errands, she is almost slaughtered by the beautiful angel named Akiva. She learns of a world she always lived in, but never knew. She finds love with the enemy, and she finds the truth about her past. But, she also learns of an age-old war that must be stopped.
